Carmel is the mountain to ascent for spiritual enlightenment. It stand for concentration, discipline of life and attainment of wisdom. When Blessed spiritual master Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara founded a community of Christian Sadhakas in Kerala, he accepted the inspiration of Carmel for the spiritual ascent of his followers.
